I’d buy one, but I’d want a manual (hard to find), and the 2.0L Turbo is classed in FS for autocross which I don’t think it’d really be competitive in. Is that the stupidest reason to not buy a car? Not liking the SCCA classing?

It’s a handsome car, but I can never see myself owning a GM product.

I love the ATS. But if you want a V get a V with a V8

Can’t afford. Curious to see how the Camaro drives with the turbo and V6. Even the V6 is probably beyond my price range, though I’d consider a used one in a few months. Unfortunately I imagine ALL the Camaros will also end up in FS. While autocross is more about handling than power I have to assume a 2.0T Camaro will be slower around an autox course than an LT1 powered one.

IMO that would be a dumb reason not to buy a car. Buy what you want and have fun with it. Who cares if you’re competitive in class?

I do. I want to be competitive. I detuned my car to run in a certain class this year.
I don’t really care about winning per se, but I want to see how I stack up against other drivers to better myself, and I can’t really compete without a competitive car. I’d also like to try going to nationals either next year or the year after, and while I don’t expect to be in the running for a top finish if at least like to have a car that could put me there

You'd have to catch up to me first

That won’t be a problem.

If you’re trying to win autocross, you’re doing it wrong.

Fair enough.

Well, be competitive within a class. Not really be fastest out there raw time. Fastest raw time would just be a C5 Z06 on racing tires, but I can’t realistically afford to have a Corvette and another car and I have no interest in winter driving a Corvette. Though if all of winter is like this December has been, fuck it.

The LFA is a cool car, but super expensive and totally not worth it.
